As became clear in the collaborative strategy process that clusters have undertaken, many of the challenges facing our region have to do with our ability to enable clusters to grow here by providing them with the advantages they need to become more competitive. Three issues in particular emerged in many clusters as important initiatives to increase regional competitiveness. The co-chair board decided to combine these initiatives into major cross-region "Flagship" initiatives that would benefit all clusters. As Regional EDGE moves forward, other Flagships may develop.
